Location Table Updates
The Location table has a new home! The Location table has moved from Master Data to the Settings > Organization menu for easier access.
You can also add new locations directly in the Locations table. Of course, you are still able to make updates to existing locations, configure the view selector as you’d wish, as well as import locations directly into Toolio.
Partitioning Curves
Curves provide planners powerful modeling of data at a detailed level, to understand variances in customer preferences for products from a location, time and attribute perspective. While this level of detail is important for allocation and assortment planning, it could also require users to create numerous sales curves or size curves to account for the nuances by category or department for instance.
Partitioning allows the user to define the level of granularity at which a curve will be created by the system and the system will extrapolate out the number of curve combinations based on the partitions selected.
Allocation Exceptions
As the allocations process produces a lot of data at a granular level, management by exception becomes important. To drive this process, additional exception metrics have been added
- Excess - identifies excess inventory where the on hand exceeds WOS requirements indicating the potential for redistribution or promotion
- Shortfall - identifies the number of units below the ideal safety stock level, indicating a need for prioritized allocation
- Potential Lost Sales - identifies the current or potential for lost sales opportunity due to inventory shortage, indicating the need for urgent allocation or replenishment
- Safety Stock Units - translates the desired safety stock cover into a unit metric to help understand capacity drivers
- Order Cycle Units - translates the order cycle into a unit metric to understand the volume of units that will flow to locations based on the desired frequency of transfers.
- Effective Safety Stock Units - translates desired safety stock cover and minimum presentation requirements into a unit metric to help understand capacity drivers
